Amsterdamse Poort, Haarlem — Gothic Brick Tower Under Turbulent Sky

Amsterdamse Poort rises from a worm's-eye angle, the Gothic arch at its base pulling the eye straight up through stepped parapets and corbelled turrets to the gold clock face at the apex. Shot from directly below, the tower fills the vertical axis while a mackerel sky spreads in every direction above it — the brick massive and deliberate, the clouds restless and wide. The medieval gate earns its presence not through scale alone but through the precision of its structure: every corbel, every stone detail working against the churn of the overcast.
