A wooden dock juts into the Spaarne, its mooring posts drawing the eye down the waterway toward Haarlem's historic skyline. The summer sky carries the weight of the image — heavy cloud stacked over the city, diffuse light spreading flat across the canal. The dock is the anchor; the skyline is the destination; the sky is what holds them together.
