Low sun over the ENCI quarry lake at Sint-Pietersberg, the hillsides closing in on both sides and the water holding the light flat against the sky. At golden hour the surface reads almost like a mirror — the sun star direct, its reflection immediate below it, the bare autumn scrub along the bank reduced to dark outline. The enclosing silhouette of the wooded slopes gives the quarry its sense of containment; the still water gives it an openness that pulls against that.
