The cantilevered viewing platform at Sint-Pietersberg juts out over the former ENCI quarry bowl, figures silhouetted against a low winter sun. The scale of the excavated landscape only registers when you see the people at the railing — the quarry swallows them. Below, the still quarry lake catches the backlit sky; bare trees ring the rim of the hill. A post-industrial site in the early stages of rewilding, held in that ambiguous state between industry and nature.
