Limestone Cliff at Sint-Pietersberg, ENCI Quarry
8 February 2026 · ENCI-groeve Sint-Pietersberg
The pitted face of the ENCI quarry cliff fills the foreground, every pocket and groove in the limestone pressed into sharp relief by low winter light. Above the lip, bare deciduous trees line the ridge against a deep, clear blue sky. Sint-Pietersberg earns its reputation as geology made visible — the cliff reads as a record of slow erosion, not a backdrop. South Limburg holds this kind of abrupt vertical edge quietly, without announcement.
