The chimney stack at the former ENCI cement plant rises above the quarry rim at Sint-Pietersberg, anchoring a skyline of rotary kilns, silos, and industrial scaffolding against a clear winter sky. Below, the settling ponds hold still water that mirrors the pale blue above — industrial geometry finding an unlikely calm. Heavy industry and the Dutch landscape tradition pull in the same frame here; the ruin earns the same structural weight as the limestone hill behind it.
