Dutch Drawbridge Silhouette Against Summer Sky, Delft

A traditional ophaalbrug in Delft, shot low and into the sun so the entire lift frame becomes a geometric portal against the sky. The diagonal chains and latticed crossbeams fracture the backlight into distinct triangles — the structure is the composition, nothing decorative about it. Cobblestones lead the eye straight through the arch into the canal beyond, grounding the graphic silhouette in its working context.
