Nieuwe Kerk Tower, Delft — Low-Angle Gothic Spire
29 May 2026 · Delft
Nieuwe Kerk's tower seen from directly below, the Gothic lines converging into a single vertical as they climb toward an overcast Dutch sky. The brick base transitions through ornate stone detailing to the slender spire at the top — six centuries of construction logic compressed into one upward thrust. Turbulent cloud cover does the tower a favour here: the pale grey diffusion holds the warmth of the brick and sharpens every carved edge along the way.
