A circular oculus sits centred above an arched iron door on a raw red-brick facade in Delft — two geometric forms stacked on the same axis, doing all the compositional work without asking for anything else. The weathered masonry holds centuries of weather and repair in its surface; the geometry holds the eye. Overcast light strips the scene flat and lets the brick texture read without distraction.
