A Delft gracht on a clear summer afternoon, the canal pulling the brick facades and tree canopy down into its surface in near-perfect symmetry. Lily pads cluster along the right bank, holding still while the town moves around them. The view recedes to a low bridge arch that closes the frame — the canal both the subject and the mirror, doubling the streetscape into something quieter than the original.
