River Buoys and Road Bridge, Maastricht Waterway

A line of yellow buoys stretches across a still inland waterway in Maastricht, anchoring the eye before it moves upstream to a concrete road bridge and, further back, the curve of a brick arch half-hidden in spring foliage. The water holds the sky almost perfectly — cloud and blue split between surface and air. Two spans of infrastructure, centuries apart in material, framed by the same wooded riverbank.
