
Riveted Steel Truss Bridge Underside, Maastricht

From below, the bridge stops being a crossing and becomes a machine — riveted steel trusses stacked in receding diagonals, compressing the canal into a vanishing point. The geometry is industrial heritage at its most graphic: gusset plates, cross-bracing, the whole load-bearing logic made visible in a single upward frame. A concrete pier anchors the midground; a Dutch sky opens at the far end.
