A steel arch bridge sits in near-silhouette against a dramatic cumulus sky over the Maas in Maastricht. The arch doubles in the river's surface below — the structure built upward and reflected downward, both versions equally complete. Navigation markers break the midground, grounding the industrial character of the waterway. Sky and river share the frame in equal measure; the bridge is the hinge between them.
