Cobblestone Passageway in Maastricht's Historic City Centre

A narrow cobblestone alley cuts between dark brick and whitewashed facades in Maastricht's historic centre, bicycles leaning against both walls as if they've been there all afternoon. Deep shadow fills the lane while a large summer tree catches full light at the far end — the alley frames the courtyard beyond more than it leads to it. The cast-iron street lamp on the right anchors the whole composition to the older city underneath the graffiti.
