Cumulus Cloud Tower Over the Netherlands
19 April 2026 · Maastricht
A convective cumulus column builds against a saturated blue Dutch sky, its billowing tower rising sharply from a broad, flat base while scattered cirrus trails dissolve in the upper atmosphere. The cloud is fully in charge here — the deep blue pulls back, and the formation takes all the space it needs. Sky studies like this one sit at the core of the Atmospheric Collection: conditions as subject, weather as the frame. A tree crown in the lower-left corner anchors the scale, placing the cloud where it belongs — enormous, and completely indifferent to it.
