Gothic Church Spire Silhouette Against Storm Sky, Maastricht

A Dutch Gothic church spire rises into a churning cumulus sky over Maastricht, the brick nave and transept pushed deep into shadow below. The gold weather vane at the tip reads as the only warm point in the frame — the rest is geometry against weather. Two cross finials anchor the composition, one on the main steeple, one on the right transept gable, giving the silhouette more structure than a single-subject frame typically earns. The building recedes; the sky advances.
