A Romanesque church tower in Maastricht, shot from directly below at a steep low angle, the stone mass filling the frame and the red-and-gold spire crown breaking into open sky. The medieval masonry does the heavy lifting — tier after tier of blind arcading and narrow lancet windows stacked toward the top. The cross and weathervane read sharp against cloud cover that presses in from the west, giving the whole structure the weight it was built to project.
