Noorderbrug Soffit, Maastricht — Concrete Arc over the Canal

Noorderbrug seen from water level, its parabolic soffit sweeping across the frame in a single unbroken arc. Shot from the canal bank in early spring, the low angle strips away any sense of the bridge as infrastructure and reads it instead as a sculptural object — geometry that earns its own presence. The concrete pier drops straight into the water, and the reflection below adds a second axis to the composition: the real arc above, the inverted one beneath. Industrial Maastricht sits quietly in the background, brick warehouses under a dramatic clouded sky.
