Gothic Church Portal, Grote Kerk Breda

The entrance to Grote Kerk Breda compresses centuries of craft into a single vertical read: iron gate at street level, red-arched double doors behind it, and a full lancet window with Gothic tracery rising above. Monochrome strips the competing warm and cool tones away and hands the eye a clean graphic stack — ironwork, stone, glass, sky. The overcast light flattens the shadows just enough to let the carved limestone detail carry without distraction. Ornamental ironwork and a no-cycling sign occupy the same frame; the gap between them is the whole picture.
