PTT Telefoon Building, Breda — Brick Facade and Oculus Tower

The PTT Telefoon building in Breda reads as a lesson in institutional weight. Three stacked oculi climb the corner tower, anchoring the composition before the eye reaches the arched doorway and its stone statue above the red entrance. The lettering — PTT TELEFOON — pressed into dark brick confirms what the architecture already argues: this building was built to mean something. Dutch modernism with Amsterdam School detail, precise and undecorated where it counts.
