Historic Monastic Facade on an Empty Square, Breda
12 May 2026 · Breda
A long brick facade fills the frame — Gothic-arched ground-floor windows giving way to plain rectangular upper storeys, the repetition building a quiet vertical rhythm across the whole elevation. The cobblestone square in front is empty, the overcast sky pressing flat and heavy above the roofline. A church spire rises behind the left flank, anchoring the building in its religious history. Stripped to black and white, the tonal contrast between dark brick, pale window frames, and churning cloud is exactly what this building is built for.
