St. Antoniuskerk Cathedral Entrance, Breda
12 May 2026 · Breda
The portal of St. Antoniuskerk — cathedral of the Bisdom Breda — holds its ground in flat overcast light. Paired pilasters frame the heavy black doors; the arched window above pulls the eye upward through brick and dressed stone. Neoclassical symmetry this deliberate reads best without colour: the tonal weight of the dark doors against pale limestone sets the hierarchy the architect intended, stripped of everything else.
