Cor-Ten Steel Staircase, Leiden — Low-Angle Geometry

Shot from the base looking up, the staircase compresses into a hard diagonal that drives the eye toward open sky. The wave-form parapets do the unexpected work here — industrial Cor-Ten steel shaped into a curve that no purely functional brief would have requested. Structure earns its presence, and the flourish earns its place within it.
