Gothic Tower Scale Model, Grote Kerk Breda

12 May 2026 · Breda

A detailed scale model of the Grote Kerk tower in Breda stands inside an acrylic display case on the church's own stone floor. The model renders every tier of Gothic tracery, the pointed arches, and the lantern spire in pale limestone-toned material — the building folded down to a height you can study at arm's length. Behind it, the nave corridor recedes into a Gothic window arch, diffuse daylight washing the white plaster walls. The model and the space it lives in are the same subject — Gothic geometry at two different scales, occupying the same room.
