Leica M11 Glossy Black Finish
Special edition of the M11 with brass top and base plates, glossy black paint, and no red dot — a 1962 Leica M3 design reference in current M-system hardware.
The M11 Glossy Black Finish pairs the M11's current hardware with body language drawn from the 1962 Leica M3 special edition. Brass top and base plates carry a glossy black paint finish that develops a patina with use; the red dot is deliberately omitted in favor of a classic Leica engraving on the top plate; the shutter release is silver-chrome; the ISO and shutter-speed dials carry cross knurling. Internally it's an M11 — 60MP full-frame BSI CMOS sensor with Triple Resolution Technology, Maestro III processor, and M-mount compatibility with every M-mount lens Leica has produced since 1954.
Position in the lineup
The M11 Glossy Black Finish is for someone who wants the standard M11's hardware in a body that references Leica's 1962 design language and shows the patina of use over time. Within Leica's M11 lineup it sits as a cosmetic special edition: the standard M11 uses an aluminum top plate (Black finish) or brass with chrome (Silver Chrome finish), the M11-P adds Content Authenticity Initiative metadata signing and sapphire monitor cover glass, the M11-D removes the rear display for a screen-free experience, and the M11 Monochrom uses a dedicated black-and-white sensor. The Glossy Black sits alongside these as the cosmetic variant — same internals as the standard M11, surface treatment built to wear.
