Dutch Polder Canal Reflecting a Dramatic Summer Sky

A drainage canal cuts through Leiden Polderpark under a sky heavy with building cumulus. The water holds the clouds as a second frame — dark at the edges where reeds and yellow iris crowd the banks, bright at the centre where the reflection opens up. The tree line on the left gives the image its weight; the open polder on the right lets the sky breathe.
