Dutch Canal at Golden Hour, Roelofarendsveen

A narrow canal in Roelofarendsveen runs straight toward open water, brick quay walls pulling the eye down to where the village ends and the lake begins. Evening light catches the right-hand path and the white bark of a birch tree, warming the brick and the rippled surface in equal measure. The canal draws the geometry; the golden hour does everything else.
