Red Rose of Lancaster Mural, Liverpool Street Art

A painted heraldic badge at the centre of a floral mural on a Liverpool wall. The circular emblem carries the Red Rose of Lancaster and the motto "They Win Or Die Who Wear The Rose Of Lancaster" — a direct line back to the Wars of the Roses, set inside a field of pink and red poppies. The badge is the still point of the composition; the poppies push outward around it, bright and loosely painted against the sage-green ground.
