St George's Hall commands the edge of Lime Street with the full weight of Greek Revival architecture — a colonnade of sandstone columns, a wide pediment, and equestrian statues holding their ground at each corner. The wide civic plaza in the foreground gives the building room to be read as a complete statement. Autumn cloud breaks over the roofline, pushing drama into a sky that the facade earns.
