Painted Dog Sculpture Outside the Museum of Liverpool
9 October 2019 · Liverpool
A large painted dog sculpture stands on a plinth outside the Museum of Liverpool, its surface divided into two worlds: birds and an orange tree canopy above the waterline, fish, jellyfish, and sea plants below. The contemporary stone-clad facade fills the background, two pedestrians passing without a glance. Public art earns its place when it carries the weight of an entire ecosystem — this one does it on four legs.
