St George's Hall and Lime Street, Liverpool at Golden Hour
9 October 2019 · Liverpool
St George's Hall dominates the left frame, its neoclassical colonnade catching the last warm light of a golden-hour autumn evening. Across the plaza, a teal double-decker bus rolls past the Wellington Column, and a skateboarder cuts through the wide stone square in the foreground. The dramatic sky — heavy cloud breaking just enough to let the light through — does as much work as the architecture. Liverpool's city centre holds a rare quality: civic grandeur and everyday street life occupying the same square metre without either apologising for the other.
