A shelf cloud rolls in hard from the left, pressing dark against the pale break where the North Sea horizon holds. Below it, the Katwijk aan Zee coastal dunes and beach pavilion sit exactly as they always do — unhurried, fixed in place, indifferent to what the sky is doing. The weight is up there, not down here. That split — sky as weather event, ground as ordinary Tuesday — is what makes the Dutch coast feel like nowhere else on the North Sea.
