Dune Path to the Bunker, Katwijk aan Zee

A sandy trail cuts through coastal dune vegetation toward a bunker-like fortification on the crest, its pale walls holding against a bruised, storm-loaded sky. The path is narrow, hemmed by dune grass and bare scrub, waymarker signs on the left marking the Duinroute. Sky and structure pull in opposite directions — the sky restless and heavy, the building planted on the ridge as if it has always been there.
