Stepped Concrete Facade, Maastricht Residential Tower

A residential tower in Maastricht reduced to its geometry: two interlocking volumes stepping against an overcast sky, the horizontal panel joints running floor by floor like a score across the facade. The cladding is the same grey from top to bottom, yet the stepped corner keeps pulling the eye — every horizontal band a rest, every change in plane a new measure. Architecture as graphic composition, the building doing the work the designer intended.
