Marriott Hotel Tower, Rotterdam — Stepped Crown and Curtain Wall

Rotterdam's Marriott tower photographed from street level, the camera tilted up into an overcast sky. The stepped crown breaks into a series of receding planes above a curved curtain-wall bay — a column of arched glazing that cuts straight through the grid of blue glass and limestone cladding from base to roofline. The geometry is the argument: two competing logics of structure, the rigid stone grid and the fluid bay, held in the same facade without apology.
