A Gothic Revival brick church complex in Pijnacker, photographed at blue hour when the sky still holds just enough light to separate the slate rooflines from the clouds. Red roses anchor the foreground — a garden bed in full bloom pressed up against centuries of austere ecclesiastical brickwork. The spire pulls the eye upward; the roses hold it down. Together they make an argument the architecture alone couldn't.
