Dutch Canal at Blue Hour, Pijnacker

A residential canal in Pijnacker at dusk, the water surface flat enough to double the willows and sky above. Reed grass lines the right bank; a wooden jetty reaches out from the left. The canal narrows toward the horizon, where rooftops and open sky meet in equal measure. Still water does this — it turns a familiar Dutch waterway into something with twice the depth it actually has.
