Tree Canopy Gap, Maastricht Park — Summer Sky

Tall deciduous trees frame a narrow column of sky above a Maastricht park, their summer canopy dense enough to turn the gap into a composition in itself. Looked at straight up, the negative space does as much work as the leaves — the sky is the subject the trees are building around. The warm greens hold the light without burning out; the clouds drift through a corridor the forest made.
