Forest Road Through Tree Canopy, Maastricht

A narrow country lane cuts south through Limburg woodland, the canopy closing in from both sides until the road and the sky meet at the same vanishing point. The trees do all the compositional work here — dense, dark green on either side, opening just enough at the top to let the blue in. It is a rare moment in this practice where no built element competes for attention; the road leads and the forest holds.
