Tree Tunnel on a Woodland Path, Maastricht

A gravel path cuts through dense summer woodland on the outskirts of Maastricht, the canopy closing overhead until only a sliver of overcast sky remains visible. That gap is the photograph — the trees have shaped the light into something close to a heart, an accident of growth that the frame catches straight on. The warm grade holds the deep greens at the edge of shadow; the path pulls the eye forward into the gap. Organic framing at its most unplanned, and none the worse for it.
