White processional arch spanning a Dutch village street, bearing the inscription 'Hij voedt ons met tarwebloem' and a cross at the apex, with brick houses and parked cars behind under an overcast sky.

Corpus Christi Processional Arch, Gronsveld, South Limburg

6 June 2026 · Grondsveld

A temporary devotional arch spans the main street of Gronsveld, erected for Sacramentsdag — the Dutch Corpus Christi procession. Two symmetrical white posts support a crossbeam carrying the inscription "Hij voedt ons met tarwebloem" (He feeds us with wheat flour), topped by a cross at the apex. Brick terraced houses and a Dutch flag-dressed façade line the street behind it. The arch is the whole geometry of the frame: vertical posts, horizontal beam, a cross at centre — devotional folk architecture reduced to its simplest structural logic.
