Dutch Flag and Coat of Arms, Gronsveld Civic Building

A Dutch tricolour billows from a bracket mounted on a red-brick civic facade in Gronsveld, South Limburg. The low angle pushes the building's cornice against a cloudy sky, compressing stone, brick, and flag into a single vertical plane. Between the arched doorway and the upper windows, a stone coat-of-arms relief anchors the frame — the heraldry and the national flag doing the same civic work in two different registers. Architecture as declaration, not decoration.
