Urban Canal in The Hague — Symmetry and Reflection
30 May 2026 · The Hague
A straight canal cuts through the heart of The Hague, its still water holding the reflections of brick quay walls and the warm terracotta face of a modern office tower. Tree-lined pavements run either side, bicycles parked along the left bank in the Dutch way. The receding perspective does the compositional work — pulling the eye toward a low bridge in the middle distance under a clear spring sky, the city quietly organised around the water that runs through it.
