Arched white steel lattice canopy over a tram tunnel entrance in Den Haag, with receding rails disappearing into darkness and a grey brick facade above.

Tram Tunnel Portal, Den Haag — Arched Steel Canopy

30 May 2026 · The Hague

An arched steel lattice canopy frames the mouth of a tram tunnel in Den Haag, the geometry of the roof structure pressed hard against a grey brick facade above. Receding tram tracks pull the eye into the darkness below; the canopy holds the composition in place, turning raw transit infrastructure into a graphic portal. The arch does structural work and visual work simultaneously — one form, two purposes.
