Tram tunnel entrance beneath a tall grey brick building in The Hague, with arched steel canopy, converging rails, and layered postmodern facades in warm golden-hour light.

Tram Tunnel Portal, The Hague City Centre

30 May 2026 · The Hague

A multi-storey brick block rises directly above the tram tunnel entrance on this stretch of Den Haag's HTM network. The arched steel canopy frames the converging rails as they disappear underground, while tram wires overhead trace the geometry back to street level. Three distinct building eras compete for the same patch of sky behind it — postmodern brick, Dutch Expressionist ornament, and a clean modern tower — each holding its own without resolving the argument.
