Church Tower with Clock Face, Pijnacker
30 May 2026 · Pijnacker
The tower of Pijnacker's church rises at a low angle, dark brick ascending in tight layers toward a slate spire under overcast Dutch sky. Gold Roman numerals on the clock face catch what little light the cloud cover allows — warm against the cool grey slate. The asymmetric framing pushes the steeple off-centre, tree branches anchoring the right edge, so the eye follows the diagonal line of the spire all the way to the point. Brick carries the warmth; slate carries the weight.
