Neo-Gothic Church Tower in Pijnacker, South Holland

30 May 2026 · Pijnacker

The brick tower of Pijnacker's neo-gothic church rises steeply from street level, its slate spire cutting a sharp diagonal against a clouded Dutch sky. The upward angle compresses the layered ornament — clock face, arched belfry windows, corbelled turret — into a single converging line. Architecture built to be read vertically, and the frame obliges. Mass and precision in the same structure, each demanding the other.
