The corner of Hotel New York Rotterdam, shot from street level looking straight up. The white painted gable carries 'NEW YORK' in large red lettering; the dark brick edge cuts a hard diagonal across a deep blue sky. Behind it, a construction crane and the upper floors of Maastoren complete the frame — the century-old building and the city still building itself, held in the same geometry. The low angle turns the corner into a wedge, and the wedge into the whole composition.
