Cylindrical Glass Rotunda, Amsterdam Bijlmer ArenA Boulevard

A cylindrical glass drum on ArenA Boulevard, Amsterdam Zuidoost, turns the sky into its own surface. The curved curtain wall mirrors the summer cloudscape with enough fidelity that the architecture and the weather become a single graphic object — structure doing what structure rarely does, which is disappear into what surrounds it. Tram wires cut a lean diagonal across the upper frame, anchoring the geometry back to street level.
