Crepuscular rays radiate from behind a large cumulus cloud over a shadowed Dutch polder meadow, with a dark treeline silhouette at the horizon and a fence rail at the right edge.

Crepuscular Rays Over Leiden Polderpark Meadow

22 May 2025 · Leiden Polderpark

Crepuscular rays push out from behind a heavy cumulus mass, fanning across a deep blue summer sky over the Leiden Polderpark. The polder meadow below sits in near-darkness — shadowed grass and a silhouetted treeline holding the ground while the sky does everything above it. Sky as subject, land as anchor: the light radiating outward finds its weight precisely because the earth beneath refuses to compete.
